Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup plain yogurt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 ½ cups mashed ripe bananas (about 3 large bananas)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Combine Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the melted butter and sugar, and whisk until well blended. Add the yogurt, vanilla extract, and mashed bananas, and mix until smooth.
- Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool and Serve: Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
Notes
- Use Ripe Bananas: The riper the bananas, the sweeter and more flavorful your bread will be.
- Do Not Overmix: Overmixing the batter can result in a dense bread. Mix just until combined.
- Storing: Store the bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
