Ingredients
- 1 Β½ cups all-purpose flour
- 2 Β½ teaspoons baking powder
- Β½ teaspoon salt
- 1 Β½ tablespoons sugar
- 1 ΒΌ cups water
- 1 egg
- 3 tablespoons butter, melted
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Instructions
- Prepare Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
- Combine Wet Ingredients: Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the water, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix with a whisk or fork until smooth.
- Cook Pancakes: Heat a non-stick griddle or large pan over medium-high heat (300-350Β°F). Pour or scoop ΒΌ cup of batter for each pancake onto the griddle. Wait until bubbles form on the surface before flipping. Continue cooking for an additional minute until cooked through and browned on the other side.
- Serve: Remove from the pan or griddle and serve immediately.
Notes
Flavor Add-ins: For added flavor, you can include 1 Β½ teaspoons of cinnamon, vanilla extract, almond extract, or maple extract. Alternatively, add blueberries, chopped berries, or the zest of an orange.
Consistency Check: The batter should have a similar consistency to traditional pancake batter. If it’s too thick, add a bit more water until you reach the desired consistency.
